In 2015 Amal Clooney teamed up with 100 Lives to create scholarships for young Lebanese women. The scholarship allows one female student from Lebanon to attend WC Dilijan College, a boarding school in Armenia where they will enrol in a two-year baccalaureate program. 100 Lives is an initiative that celebrates those who helped Armenians 100s of years ago and supports those aiming to keep the legacy alive. “This scholarship will give young women from Lebanon the opportunity of a lifetime,” Amal said in a previous statement. The first scholarship was given to Pamela Tebchrany, a Lebanese student who will use her scholarship to pursue a career in human rights and womens equality.

The Clooney Foundation For Justice

Amal and George created this organisation in 2016 to support individual who are unfairly targeted around the world. In 2017 the foundation was joined forces with Southern Poverty Law to target hate groups in the US. The Clooney’s said in a statement, “Amal and I wanted to add our voice (and financial assistance) to the ongoing fight for equality. There are no two sides to bigotry and hate.” Their foundation has also allowed them to partner with UNICEF to aid Syrian refugees with educational opportunities.
